Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley Celebrates GCSE Success

Students at Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley are today celebrating their GCSE results with a strong performance across the board. 92% of girls got a Grade 4 or higher in English, and 87% did so in maths.

Our group of 11 students studying Mandarin, as part of the Harris Federation’s initiative on Chinese language teaching, got a Grade 8 or 9, equivalent to an A* or A**.

Amongst those celebrating is Emilia (pictured below) who achieved eight Grade 9s (equivalent to A**s).

Congratulations are due to all students, including:

  • Ekiuwa, who achieved six Grade 9s, one Grade 8 (equivalent to an A*) and one Grade 7 (equivalent to an A);
  • Laila-Dior, who achieved six Grade 9s and two Grade 8s;

Mr Samuel Rigby, Principal of the Academy said:

“I am so very pleased for our girls who are celebrating their GCSEs today. There have been some magnificent personal achievements which are reflected in the grades.

“Our focus in the school is not just on ensuring the girls do well at their exams, however. Each of these young women is now progressing to the next stage of their education having enjoyed numerous opportunities in enrichment activities, sport, performing arts and a wide variety of other activities, despite the challenges of the pandemic. We are very proud of them all”.
