Poetry by Heart Competition - First Heat
Poetry by Heart is a National Competition that students at Harris Girls’ Academy can participate in, by choosing, learning and performing a poem by heart.
On Tuesday 22 February, two students battled it out in the first heat of the competition. Annabel went up against Fareeda where they squared off with two poems recited by heart: Shakespeare at School by Wendy Cope and The Cloths of Heaven by W.B. Yeats.
It was a close heat so well done to both students. In the end, however, it was Fareeda who scored highest and won the first round of the competition. Well done!
