Students and staff at Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley are celebrating a fantastic set of results.

In summary:

• Nearly four fifths (79%) of students achieved GCSEs in English and maths.
• 48% of students achieved the demanding English Baccalaureate. 

Under the new system, passes are marked on a scale of Grade 9 (equivalent to an A**) to Grade 4 (equivalent to a C):

• 93% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in English.
• 15 students achieved the new ‘super’ Grade 9 (equivalent to an A**) in English and 10 in Maths. 

Notable individual successes included:

• Arya Malhotra-Walsh who achieved 5 of the new Grade 9s and an A*
• Kamiyla Robinson-Pascal and Amy Thompson, who both achieved Grade 9s in double science, English and maths

Harris Academy Bromley Executive Principal, David Astin, said:

Despite tougher qualifications this year, students have achieved fantastic results including many of the new Grade 9s. All girls can feel proud of their achievements which will stand them in good stead for their sixth form education.
